How to Draw a Penguin

This week in reading we learned about instructions and what makes a good or bad one. 

For our task we had to choose out of 5 sets of instructions. They didn't tell us what we were doing, we just had to follow as best we could.

I didn't find it too hard to follow. I think my product was pretty good.

Learn To Build My Minecraft House

In writing this week we had to create a set of instructions to create or do something. I quite enjoy gaming and one of my favourite games is Minecraft. So i thought, what better instruction than a Minecraft house tutorial. I jumped into a super flat world and started testing designs. Watch the video below to see how to build my house.

Inner Peace

For reading this week we learned about inner peace and different types of inner peace. there are four types of inner peace: Mental, social, physical and spiritual. 

Our create task was to draw things that give you peace inside of a symbol of peace.

The top two sections of my drawing are about being outside in nature (spiritual and physical) The bottom left is family (social) and finally the bottom right, leisure (Mental)

 I drew this all myself i hope you like it.

What gives you inner peace?

I'm quite strong in the social aspect of inner peace. I think I need to work more on the mental side.

Emotional Literacy

Today in PBL we learned about emotional literacy. Emotional literacy is knowing how to understand emotions and being able to see others emotions. Our first task was to arrange pieces of paper with emotions written on them, into different groups judging by energy level, pleasantness and unpleasantness.

KFConsole?

Goal: Select from a wide range of genre when reading independently

This week in reading we had to state our thoughts on some kiwi kids news articles. I found some very interesting articles that just blew my mind away.

• KFC Develop gaming console - Interest Article

My first thoughts on this were... why? This article says that the KFConsole would have a built in chicken warmer. Why? Are humanity really this lazy?

• Five people arrested for stealing Lady Gaga's dogs - Crimes

Five people involved in a robbery of lady gaga's dogs. It's kind of funny. Yes french bulldogs are worth quite a bit, but it seems like quite an elaborate heist just for a couple dog's. 

• House on auction for $1 - Real estate

Really? Would you be that desperate as to sell your house for as little as $1? The article says that the couple had lost $400,00 on earthquake repairs. I guess it makes sense, but $1?
