Maths Week 9/10
L4: Identify and use the features of a figure that do not change (invariant properties) as it is reflected, rotated, translated or enlarged.
This Week in maths we looked at Rotation, Enlargement, Reflection and Translation. We had to use Maori Patterns as examples.

Reading Term 1 Week 7
Goal: L4 think while reading, pick up new information, and come up with new ideas and new thinking
This Week in reading we had to look at two texts based around the Christchurch earthquakes and right out the main points.
This is my outcome:
Rebuilding Christchurch with amazing ideas
Main points:
Community ideas | They surveyed the school community for ideas
Structural integrity | The girls talked about how after the earthquake people wanted to know that the building was safe
Cultural aspects | The wanted the dome to connect to the culture of New Zealand
Sustainability | The girls studied how they can make the building have the lowest possible environmental impact
Sensing Data
Main points:
Air Pollution | They talk about how air pollution is a big problem in cities
Rebuilding | They talk about rebuilding Christchurch after the earthquake
Advanced Technology | They talk about how they can use modern technology to their advantage
Monitoring the air | They talk about using sensors to monitor the air pollution levels so that they can figure out how to reduce it
